This is for the Battlefield Vietnam no-cd patch. Please note that this no-cd patch will only work with 1.21 of the game.
Updates to Windows 7, 8, 8.1 & 10 have broken the normal way to run Battlefield Vietnam. That way is the old fashioned original disc inserted into the CD Drive. BFV was not the only game hit with this securom issue. Thus the only way forward is to make use of a NO-CD Crack.
Installing the no-cd crack is an absolute breeze. I mean that literally. So once you’ve downloaded it, unzip it using WinRar or 7zip. Once extracted, and provided you have not renamed it, you will have a folder titled “Battlefield Vietnam - V1.21 No-CD Patch”. Go into this folder and you will have the following files: “Mods”, “BfVietnam” & “Simple”. Copy the “Mods” folder & the “BfVietnam” file and navigate to your Battlefield Vietnam directory.
Your game directory, if you have not installed it anywhere else that is not default, should be in one of the following locations depending upon whether you have a 32-bit Windows or a 64-Bit Windows:
C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Games\Battlefield Vietnam
Or
C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield Vietnam
If you have a 64-bit Windows, you will have the Program Files (x86) folder and that is where your game directory will be located. If you have 32-bit Windows then you will only have the Program Files folder thus that is where you need to go. So once you have found where your game directory is, go right into it so you can see all the files. You will know you’re in the right directory when you see the two files we copied earlier on - the “Mods” folder & the “BfVietnam” file. So once you are inside this directory paste the copied files and it will ask you if you want to replace existing files. You must allow it to replace the files.
Please note that using this no-cd patch will also fix your in-game browser. Meaning you will see the server list again! Provided all the other servers also use the alternative master server - OpenSpy.
